Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Did you know that over 80% of fights end up on the ground? Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art and combat sport that is based on ground fighting. In BJJ, players focus on the skill of taking an opponent to the ground, controlling them, gaining a dominant position, and using techniques to force opponents into submission via joint locks or chokeholds.

For those unfamiliar with BJJ, this may sound terrifying and dangerous. However, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu translates into “the gentle art,” and can be practiced safely without any risk to its students as long as they listen. BJJ is a great option for smaller individuals that enables them to defeat larger opponents by using their power and movements against them.
